WHEREVER WE PUT OUR FEET

Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you... (Joshua 1:3)

Moving from Yulee Middle School where we had lots of space but low visibility and limited access to a location that has great visibility, unlimited access, but is quite a bit smaller took faith. It really did. There is always this concern about running out of space. I had this concern from the start. Yet, I knew this was where we were supposed to go. We had plans to take the space next door for our children's ministry. When that was snatched up by someone else, I told myself the gospel: Jesus is on the throne and this is for our good. He has a better plan for us.  And we had significant financial hurdles to get over that further challenged our faith. God answered our prayers and all we needed came in.  Several members (and some non-members) have given above and beyond and helped make our move into the current space possible. Thank you for answering the call and demonstrating that your treasures are not on this earth but in heaven.

This past week another space came available a few doors down. I am already in touch with our property manager. Costs are going to be a concern. The good news is I do not foresee any major modifications being done, so we will be able to move right in and make small changes over time.

Here's why we need the space: raising up the next generation to be faithful disciples of Christ is vital. My vision for our church is to have a solid, biblical, disciple-making children's ministry. To do this we need space! The space is now available and the question is will we step out in faith and take it or will we select the no-risk path? If Joshua had chosen the no-risk option he would never have crossed the Jordan. God has given us the ground where we currently stand and I believe we must take another step. This step will require faith. Do we have the faith?

Last Sunday, several members stayed after the service to hear about the plan to lease additional space and took a tour. Everyone seemed to agree, this was a necessary step. But for those of you who were not present, you need to be filled in and to voice your thoughts.
Please understand that this is going to cost money and agreeing to go forward is agreeing to financially support this decision. Taking on this additional space is going to cost us roughly $2000 more per month in facility expenses. The estimation according to our treasurer, is about $90 more per month per giving household.

I ask that you lift this matter up in your prayers. Specifically, I ask that you pray for an increased desire in your own heart and the hearts of our brothers and sisters, to see Jesus exalted. Pray for an increased desire to make a difference in the community with the hope of the Gospel. We are all in this together and we need to work together to see this happen. If we lack in gospel zeal, we will be less inclined to pray that the Lord will supply all that we need. Also, I ask you to be faithful with your giving. If you are not giving faithfully and sacrificially, then it hinders our ability to march forward in the mission God has called us to. God is not limited by us, but he does work through us. Remember that everything you have came from him in the first place. When we don't give, it reveals the condition of our hearts.
